Summits furthest from the Earth's center
Mount Everest is the point with the highest elevation above sea level on Earth but it is not the summit that is furthest from the Earth's center. Because of the equatorial bulge, the summit of Mount Chimborazo in Ecuador is the point on Earth that is furthest from the center of the earth. It is 2,168 m (7,113 ft) farther from the Earth's center than that of Everest.
- Note: Chimborazo's summit is about 25 metres further from the earth's centre than that of Huascaran.
