Status of Competition

Before the mass termination of all Solar Entertainment channels from SkyCable, Global Destiny Cable has, since 2003, been quietly maintaining a strong subscriber base composed mostly of Tsinoys, Koreans and Japanese subscribers owing to its most extensive lineup of Asian foreign channels compared to other cable providers in Metro Manila. At that time, it has voluntarily backtracked from being a direct competitor to SkyCable.

However, due to the exodus of JackTV, Basketball TV and Solar Sports from SkyCable,Global Destiny Cable is once more in a major competition with major cable TV providers in the country including Sky Cable where it had backed down from direct competition for some years now after many STAR TV channels were removed from their cable system in 2002.

Strengths of Global Destiny Cable Service

-Signal delivery through fiber-optic cables

-an extensive network of after-sales branch offices assigned to specific locations in Metro Manila for faster response to cable service requests.

-An efficient and updated customer billing system

Weaknesses of Global Destiny Cable Service

-No 24/7 customer service at its local offices

-Signal interruptions tend to last long, especially when it happens in the evenings and on weekends due to unavailable technicians to fix the problem immediately.

-Satellite signal quality is not stable at all times. There is a tendency for some of its cable channels to receive pixelized satellite TV signals, especially with its Taiwan channels. This also sometimes happens with English language channels too.

-Sub-par in-house programming usually employing fresh mass-com graduates.

-Some technicians at its headend center lack knowhow in adjusting problematic satellite TV signals.
