IkoniqueOS

Thanks for the further explanation on IkoniqueOS to this new editor. I noticed you added some supportive text for the prod to the talk page there. Did you want to add a {{Proposed deletion endorsed}} (or {{prod-2}}) to the main page as well? Might make it clearer for the closing admin.--RadioFan (talk) 18:15, 6 March 2011 (UTC)

Done I may try to tackle it later today or tomorrow to see if I can help out the cause, but my initial Google search didn't look promising. Strikerforce (talk) 18:30, 6 March 2011 (UTC)

Radiofan RfA

Hi, it may be a leftover in my browser cache but it looks as if you still need to update the time parser function :) --Kudpung (talk) 23:51, 6 March 2011 (UTC)

I see that, but I'm afraid my attempts to do so are blowing the template out of whack! Would you be willing to assist? This is my first nomination and I don't want to mess anything up. Strikerforce (talk) 23:56, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
Not to worry, it looks as if someone has done it. I'll tell you what though if it's any consolation - when I transcluded my own RfA last week, it was one of the hairiest transcludes I ever did :) --Kudpung (talk) 00:07, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
I attempted it, but it appears that I didn't do something correctly, as it is showing up as "Pending closure" in the RfA report template on my user page?? Strikerforce (talk) 00:12, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

RfA

On my RfA, you stated "Oppose Regrettably so, but I just don't see the need for the candidate to have the tools, given their stated purpose for running". I have to say that I am quite confused by what you say, especially as all three of the areas that I stated that I intend to work in do use admin tools (AIV, RfPP, CSD). Although I currently make reports to those areas, and having been doing so for quite a while, without admin tools, it is the administrators who respond to those reports, and I've frequently noticed backlogs there. Could you please explain what you meant by your statement? --Slon02 (talk) 23:22, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Yes, in order to actually delete / protect pages, you'd need the mop, but I have concerns with some of your work in CSD, as referenced by a couple of other editors in the discussion. Strikerforce (talk) 23:51, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
I see. In that case, I'll direct you to the same CSD log that I showed other editors with the same concerns. Hopefully the 100% accuracy in it will persuade you, but if not, then I'll respect your right to oppose. --Slon02 (talk) 00:23, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, but I can not support at this time. Your attempt to come here to persuade me to change my mind is rather troubling, in my opinion. I view it as bad taste for a candidate to attempt conversation with a goal of changing the mind of editors who have offered oppose statements to their RfA on pages other than the RfA page itself. Strikerforce (talk) 07:40, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
The reason I do so is because all of these things have already been stated here, and I assumed that it is likely that some editors may have stopped paying attention to the discussion after the first day of their posting. --Slon02 (talk) 12:05, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) I have to agree with Strikerforce. My own recent RfA was going very badly at one stage but I would never have considered attempting to sway opinion outside the RfA discussion itself. It does not bode well for discussions such as AfD etc, that you would be involved in as an admin. Kudpung (talk) 14:19, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

Post close

Regarding this, please don;t worry too much about it. I was actually writing a comment without a !vote (but leaning keep) when it was closed. I tend to agree with many of the editors saying keep but it was understandable that you thought there was a chance it was not worthy of an article. Baba shukla

Hi! As Baba Shukla, it was deleted 11 Mar 2011. I don't think there's a CSD tag for that, tho. --Shirt58 (talk) 08:02, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

Yes, I'd noticed that it had been previously deleted, which is why I deleted my original tag and changed rationale. But, you can't use the previously deleted material rationale for something that was speedy'd, which is something that I have trouble remembering until after the fact :) Thanks for the note! Strikerforce (talk) 08:03, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
Oops, sorry for telling you stuff yolu already knew. It has always puzzled me why there doesn't seem to be any way of flagging that something has been speedied previously. Want to take it up at the Village Pump? Me neither. --Shirt58 (talk) 08:23, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
Oh, no need to apologize. I didn't intend for it come across as being irritated or anything like that... my apologies if it did. Strikerforce (talk) 08:51, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
No problem at all. Just part of my inadvertant project to become the first user to be blocked for long-term sickly-sweet, over the top, hyper-civility. I send thank-you's to bots and sockpuppets, even. My full apologies if my comments have caused you any concerns whatsoever. (HMoG, I'm doing it again... ) --Shirt58 (talk) 09:21, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

I applaud your self-editing decision to remove the prod on G-WAN. While the snow is gathering on the AFD for the G-WAN (Web server), the article creater is already agitated enough, no need to make it worse. Good call on the sock puppet report as well.--RadioFan (talk) 14:15, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Wiselittleowl

I've detagged it because I don't think your reason complies with WP:NOTCSD, Criterion 1. Actually, I'm trying to find out what the heck db-reason IS there for. I think I've only ever got away with a couple of them, and I can't remember why... It only seems to work if you use a valid CSD reason, and there are tags for them already. Anyway, if this user starts holding loving conversations with a beloved, there could be further action available. As it stands, it's just a comment that doesn't even have a suspicion of an attack in it. Or spam. If it were in mainspace, it would go under context. On a userpage, we can't use that. Ah well.... Peridon (talk) 23:22, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

How does the current content not fail Wikipedia is not Facebook? Not trying to argue with you, just curious how you can justify removing the CSD. Strikerforce (talk) 23:36, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
Please feel free to argue. I'm working from
"The following are not by themselves sufficient to justify speedy deletion.
1. Reasons based on Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. Wikipedia is not: "a dictionary", "an indiscriminate collection of information", "a crystal ball", "a how-to list", etc."
And "Simple use as a personal web page is not in itself a speedy deletion criterion, although clear advertising and promotional use is." (From Wikipedia:User_pages#Deleting_others.27_user_pages. I used to enjoy battles with evangelists where I would counter their Bible quotes with my Bible quotes. There's probably scope for a similar game with Wikipedia policies. Your turn.... :) Peridon (talk) 23:52, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
Counterargument, from What Wikipedia is not:
"Personal web pages. Wikipedians have their own user pages, but they may be used only to present information relevant to working on the encyclopedia. If you are looking to make a personal webpage or blog or to post your résumé, please make use of one of the many free providers on the Internet or any hosting included with your Internet account."
I ask you, good sir, what is the "information relevant..." in "Dylan Campbell is the love of Taylor Payne's life"? If you ask me, the two policies that we are using seem to counteract each other and send us in circles. LOL Strikerforce (talk) 00:03, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
I find the userpages policy confusing - "Generally, you should avoid substantial content on your user page that is unrelated to Wikipedia" and "usually one's user page has something about oneself". This is hardly substantial, and presumably the Owl is one or the other of the two lovebirds. Tag it again with 'per discussion on my talk page' in the summary, and see what someone else thinks. Whatever happens, we'll learn something. Previously, I would happily slap tags on to see what happened. Now, I'm having to learn to be more legalistic (without getting hidebound...). Peridon (talk) 00:24, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
Nah, I won't tag it again. Big picture, it's not that big of a deal, you know? If I were wagering, I'd bet that the editor is probably young (under 13 or 14, most likely), in love for the first time, and wants the world to know about it. Pretty harmless. We were all that young once, right? I'll probably just leave a gentle note on their talk page about it and call it a night (especially since I'm about to head to a BBQ place to watch my beloved Illinois Fighting Illini play in the NCAA Tournament tonight... hopefully they don't choke, but I'm not holding my breath). Thanks for the discussion! :) Strikerforce (talk) 00:30, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Tagging of List of number-one hits (WorldWide)

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on List of number-one hits (WorldWide). I disagree with the speedy deletion of List of number-one hits (WorldWide)because This does not duplicate the individual country lists, or any other article, so this does not meet the CSD criteria. Questions such as "Is this necessary?" are ones for AfD, not speedy deletion.. You should therefore not retag List of number-one hits (WorldWide) for speedy deletion. You are, of course, free to tag the article with {{prod}} or nominate it at WP:AFD. Thryduulf (talk) 17:53, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Meh. No big deal. I may nom for deletion via AfD, at some point, but I also might not. I'll keep an eye on it and see how it develops. At the outset, however, it would seem that it duplicates existing lists. Strikerforce (talk) 18:04, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
I don't think it does duplicate existing lists, as this is a single worldwide list (or rather an index of such lists by year) rather than lists per country. Thryduulf (talk) 18:14, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
That could be the case, yes. I see someone has already nominated it for deletion, though. I wouldn't mind seeing what the original author was going to do with it.--Strikerforce (talk) 18:19, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

In re: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Possessed (2009 film)

I wish to ask your opinion of The Possessed (2009 film). As a two-sentence stub undergoing active editing, and without any tagging for concerns, it was nominated for deletion just three hours after creation.[2] Over the following few hours, the article has been expanded, sourced, and is looking far more suitbale for inclusion in Wikipedia.[3] Might you have advice for further improvement? Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 00:26, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

I will look it over and offer an opinion.--Strikerforce (talk) 03:45, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

The Possessed (2009 film)

The main reason of the creation of this page was the the relation between this article and Watseka wonder. because a person which is interested in spiritual possession could access at least to visionary example of real incident.you know that most of the spiritual movies and stories are fake and in fact are worthless and also this article could help other people to get more knowledge about paranormal subjects specially for the people who can not spend their time for reading the Dr stevensons booklet.--Navid1366 (talk) 08:26, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

That's fine and honorable, but I still do not believe the film is notable. Sorry, but my commentary at the AfD discussion stands as is, unless someone can provide evidence to convince me otherwise. Strikerforce (talk) 08:28, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
I am not talking about notability, i'm talking about the relation between these two articles and also i have read the wikipedia policy about movie notability but again i could not understand why you mentioned that this article can not satisfy the wikipedia policies.--Navid1366 (talk) 08:38, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

Block of Bugapi

I'm not sure what, if anything can be done, but I would also strongly recommend considering a block of the IP addresses that the user has been editing under for most of the past five days or so. They can be found listed here. Strikerforce (talk) 13:00, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

I'd also recommend extending this block to a permanent one. This is a single purpose account focused on promotion of a web server product that this editor is associated with. In addition to the edit waring, violation of the 3-revert rule, this editor has is bent on disrupting the AFD on the article in question and has taken recommending deletion of an article on a competing product here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cherokee (Webserver). No less than 5 editors have tried, in vain, to give this editor the benefit of the doubt and direct them towards more positive contributions. More details are available here: Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Bugapi--RadioFan (talk) 15:10, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
Agreed there Radiofan - extended to permanent block since that kind of nonsense is beyond acceptable. The 2 day block was intentionally short to allow some input in the deletion discussion, and to (hopefully) prevent a myriad of IP's all over the place. I admit that i was actually close to an indef before, but seeing the addition to the other deletion discussion, i believe that WP:RBI is the only way to go here, as is for any future IP's or socks. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 15:27, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

Am I ready for an RFA?

Evaluate me. Do you think I'm ready to be an administrator? I have the following things on my resume here:

  • Reverted hundreds of vandalizing edits
  • Marked many pages for speedy deletion
  • Warned hundreds of users
  • Resolved conflicts at Wikiquette alerts
  • 2200+ edits
  • Acts like an admin in some situations
  • Roughly 50 edits per day
  • Reverts BLP violations

If this is not appropriate, please tell me. My request for admin coaching, just to let you know, has not been answered.Jasper Deng (talk) 23:34, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

At the moment, I would say no. "2200+" edits in almost three years on Wikipedia is not going to be judged as having enough experience by most commentators at RfA. It would be a great service to others, in the way of being able to evaluate you better, if you would opt-in to the monthly edit counts, though. You may do that by following the instructions here[4]. The recent warning given to you in regard to refactoring the comments of other users on talk pages is a red flag, as well. While I didn't click on the diffs to see exactly what was done, my reaction was the same as most - if not all - others would have upon seeing that... "this person isn't ready yet". Strikerforce (talk) 07:27, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
That discussion occured a month ago, and I have ceased doing it after that. I've also opted in to monthly edit counts-much of my edits have been in the last 4 or 5 months.Jasper Deng (talk) 19:39, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
I realize that the discussion was a month ago. However, it would still be a problem. Commentators at RfA will look back through at least six months of contributions and interactions, if not more. Something of that nature being so recent would bring in a flood of oppose votes. Do you spend time participating in the RfA debates? I would suggest doing so for quite some time before you give serious thought to running for adminship yourself, so that you can get a feel for what other people look for and the kinds of things that get brought into the discussions. If you'd like an easy way to keep track of RfA, feel free to copy the code from my user page for the RfA table. Strikerforce (talk) 19:48, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Thx. Did not know it was an automatic template.Jasper Deng (talk) 22:45, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

I've done what I could here to help the author. Have I moved it past the A1 threshhold? :D Dru of Id (talk) 10:46, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Yes. As a school, it is generally notable. At the time of my tagging, there was no indication of what - exactly - it was. Strikerforce (talk) 10:48, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Well, I'd at heard of Ann Jellicoe and seen her in something, and everyone has to have gone to school somewhere, though her article says she went there, it isn't sourced, and everything online seems to mirror us, as I'm finding more and more... Cheers. Dru of Id (talk) 10:53, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) I must admit I was fixin' for feud as an WP:A7 when the article was started, but it seems the article has now got legs, and is now no longer a CSD candidate. --Shirt58 (talk) 11:22, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Was it anything specifically that changed your mind? :D Dru of Id (talk) 11:35, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
The general expansion of the article, specifically the assertion of what the subject actually was, would have made my original tagging - made very early in the article's history - invalid. Strikerforce (talk) 12:39, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
What Strikerforce said! --Shirt58 (talk) 08:20, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Mmmhmm. Your edit history[5] suggests otherwise. Are you attempting to tell me that multiple computers are logged in to this account, all in the twenty minutes or so since its first edit? Men in Frocks with footballs

I've changed your csd to a prod - it's too coherent for 'nonsense' in the csd definition. That tag ought to be renamed 'gibberish' or something better, IMO. This'll end up at AfD, probably. Peridon (talk) 16:32, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

I don't think you can speedy for made up - I've been knocked back for trying it before. That's why I converted to prod here. Peridon (talk) 16:35, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
It's all good. There should be a few more tags available, in my opinion, because I often come across stuff that doesn't have a tag already established, but obviously doesn't belong here. Strikerforce (talk) 16:37, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
The argument from the other side is always that other things aren't as clear-cut, and there's always good ol' Mr Prod. Peridon (talk) 16:56, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
PROD takes too long for things that are blatantly obvious. Any new tags would explicitly be for things that are obvious and could be declined just as any other rationale can be. I don't know... I may give it some more thought and write up a proposal, at some point. We'll see.--Strikerforce (talk) 17:06, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: Artecombo

Hello Strikerforce, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Artecombo, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Logan Talk Contributions 01:01, 27 March 2011 (UTC)

It did no such thing when I tagged it. It won second prize at some competition... so? I still don't see how that passes muster. I also still stand by my assertion that it qualifies as G11, as well; "ArteCombo’s aim is to create bridges between music and other arts, as shown by the following examples" looks a lot like an advertising phrase rather than an encyclopedia entry, to me. I'm well aware of the criteria for speedy deletion, but thanks for the message. Strikerforce (talk) 02:23, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
Ouch. Final line comes across awfully snarky. Not intended as such... I tag quite a few pages and have had a solid accuracy rate, to date. Everybody misses one every now and then, but that doesn't warrant a "you should review (read: educate yourself because you don't appear to know better) the criteria before you tag any further pages", in my opinion. I'm sure you were commenting in good faith, Logan, but it just rubbed me a bit sore. (Losing a wager on the Florida-Butler game tonight may also have me in a sour mood, as well... who knows..) Strikerforce (talk) 02:33, 27 March 2011 (UTC)

I have deproded Social competence

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Social competence, which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! Tideflat (talk) 19:06, 27 March 2011 (UTC)

Lisa Hammond

You nominated this for deletion on the grounds that the article gave no indication of her notability and it was struck out before I had seen your tag. The article said that she is vice-chair of the Craft Potters Association. The CPA is the representative body for professional potters in the UK. If you doubt a subject's notability, but know nothing about the subject, it is common sense and courtesy to the editor who has created the article to do five minutes' research before recommending deletion. I am too busy to re-write the article now, and all I can say is that you should have read more carefully before placing this tag. Marshall46 (talk) 10:23, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

At the time of tagging, it did no such thing. Also, it would appear that my tag was correct, as the article was - in fact - deleted.Strikerforce (talk) 12:47, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

I've been trying to work with the other people on this issue but none of them are willing to come to any decision that isn't "no article there". If you have any suggestions on how to deal with three intractable people who blindly delete articles because they don't like them I'd be happy to hear about it because I can;t get past "no article here" and threats from any of them. Harley Hudson (talk) 17:31, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

You have accused three editors including myself of "threats", being unhelpful, ganging up on you etc.. we have offered to help but you said no, you only want it your way. You could create the article under a different name space. Like I said it needs more OOU information adding then. However an admin has now, kindly recreated the article under Ian Gallagher (Shameless). You have just talked to this editor in a very demeaning manner too.. so that is around 4 editors you have launched your insults onto.Rain the 1 BAM 17:46, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

You're still heavy in the user talk space with over 60% of your edits thus far this month in that area. You've only made about 200 edits since your RfA, which is not really enough for me to offer a solid opinion. Reach out again when you get in the neighborhood of 2500 or so edits, which would be an additional 700 since your RfA. Strikerforce (talk) 00:48, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

Edit War on Matt Painter

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.

In particular, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice.--174.253.20.207 (talk) 17:03, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Ummm... no? It's a page with Pending Changes protection. Unless I am mistaken, this is not a situation where 3RR would apply. Strikerforce (talk) 17:12, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
3 reverts is 3 reverts. You don't get to pick and choose. I have reported you. --174.253.20.207 (talk) 17:16, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
Well, that would be your right as an editor, I suppose. I'd be very surprised to see anything come of the report, but we'll see. Strikerforce (talk) 17:18, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
You are vandalizing Wikipedia. You will be blocked!--174.253.20.207 (talk) 17:22, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
As I said above, we'll see what action - if any - that an administrator decides to take. I'm curious, though, about one thing... you haven't made any other edits to the encyclopedia other than a report to AN/3 about me. What is your deal? Why are you so interested in interacting with me about a claim regarding a violation of policy that might not even be, in fact, a violation? Strikerforce (talk) 17:25, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Supreme Overlord of Knowledge

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Supreme Overlord of Knowledge, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your comments on my page re Barry Bonds

You stated "Your edit summary on Barry BondsI do not appreciate the tone of your most recent edit summary on the Barry Bonds article. Per BLP, I was correct to undo your edit and request a citation. I was well aware, at the time of my edit, that the verdict had come in. All you had to do was provide that citation, which you could have done without adding the comment that you did. --StrikerforceTalk Review me! 21:58, 13 April 2011 (UTC)"

Your comments are out-of-line. You could have just as easily put a cite in, as you were apparently aware of the verdict. Failure to do so is conterproductive. Jvsett (talk) 23:33, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

I disagree with you. My edit was backed 100% by policy (one of the most strict policies that Wikipedia has). I made a simple request for a citation ("Citation, please", for anyone that may be reviewing this interaction at any future point). Your response of "See the news, please" comes across as snippy, disrespectful, and patronizing. For that reason, I left a comment on your talk page, simply pointing out that you may have been a bit uncivil (which, looking at a couple of other items on your talk page, appears to be a problem that you have had previously). In regard to the citation, I was aware of it, yes, thanks to my Twitter feed blowing up with "breaking news" comments about it, but I had yet to read an article about the verdict, myself. Thus, I did not have a citation readily available. In the interest of maintaining BLP compliance, I acted correctly. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 23:58, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
And I disagree with you. Regarding my comment "read the news," since you acknowledge you had full awareness of the fact Barry Bonds had been convicted, the proper edit would have been to add cite, not to remove an undisputed fact which simply was “He was convicted on April 13, 2011 on the obstruction of justice charge”. This is nothing controversial nor editorializing about this statement. Your reverting did not increase the utility of Wikipedia, nor comply with policy you cite. I note that another use added additional citation approximately one hour after my citation, which should have been done in your edit. Your inappropriate umbrage and continued posting on this matter is bewildering. You accuse me of being uncivil and personally attacked me on two different pages. I was neither uncivil nor attacked you. I did not make any disparaging remarks about you, which you continue to do. This is inappropriate. You continue inflame this situation for no apparent reason. Jvsett (talk) 01:56, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
Per BLP, the burden is on the editor wishing to add or reinsert information to an article. Nothing about this is inappropriate. You were, in my opinion, uncivil in your edit summary. Step back and read it from my point of view... do you not see how it could be interpreted as a snippy, insulting comment? I very calmly stated my opinion that I did not appreciate the summary. You've chosen to escalate this into accusing me of being "inappropriate" and "bewildering" and "inflaming this situation for no apparent reason". StrikerforceTalk Review me! 05:26, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
My original edit was appropriate with the recent verdict. My revert and justification were also appropriate. You demanded citations in your revert; yet, you had actual knowledge of the truth of the conviction and with numerous citations available. These facts undermine the purpose of your revert. Your original revert and continued justification violates the WP:Common principle. As to the claims of inflaming, it was you who first stated that my tone is inappropriate on my talk page. This means you took time out of your busy schedule to reprimand me. When I responded, you then accused me of not following YOUR rules on my talk page, while simultaneously stating I am "a bit uncivil (which, looking at a couple of other items on your talk page, appears to be a problem that you have had previously)" on your own talk page. These three comments would be considered personal and direct attacks on my character. I believe this violates many Wikipedia rules. In any event, I disagree with these accusations. Now, I find a comment from 174.253.0.250 (talk) at 03:27, 14 April 2011 (UTC) (apparently out of Chicago, Illinois based on the location of the IP address) stating that I am "profane language deleted by SF." Based on your previous comments that you are monitoring my user talk page, you knew this comment had been posted. After this comment was posted, you then you accuse me of escalating the situation. This is simply untrue. At every stage highly prejudicial and loaded terms have been thrown against me. Please stop this harassment. Jvsett (talk) 06:40, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
Harassment? Seriously? Do you really want to go there? I'll tell you what, if you think that I'm harassing you, then feel free to report me. In case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm more disappointed by the fact that you failed to recognize that my issue has been with your edit summary, not your edit, and the tone that the summary took. Are you aware of some of the reasons why Wikipedia's active contributor numbers are down over the past couple of years? As part of the new Wiki Guides program, I've been enlightened by some interesting information from User:Philippe that will be revealed in further detail in the coming weeks, but I will share this bit with you; snippy edit summaries - like the one that you provided - have a role in newcomers feeling bitten, on occasion, among other reasons. Civility is a problem here on Wikipedia, whether perceived or in reality. My point all along was that you could have used a more tone-neutral edit summary. In regard to the IP edit, I didn't see it until you pointed it out here. I have over 200 pages in my watchlist and since the conversation between us had migrated to my page rather than yours, I'd removed your talk page from my list. Are you trying to imply that I am the IP or simply that I, for some magical reason, had ignored the posted comment? StrikerforceTalk Review me! 06:55, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
You are right. Lack of civility on Wikipedia is an issue. Examples would probable include:
  • Reverting a good faith uncontentious edit when that the person reverting knows it is both verifiable and truthful.
My action was backed by BLP, as stated above. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 21:22, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
  • Posting on another user’s page because a perceived slight.
Absolutely nothing wrong with this, considering that I did it in a calm manner that simply expressed my disappointment. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 21:22, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
  • Making comments such as another user is “snippy, disrespectful, and patronizing,” along with being “uncivil”.
Please try putting yourself in my position and then try to tell me that you would not have felt the same way. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 21:22, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
  • Creating and/or sanctioning (through an action or inaction) an atmosphere where another user is forced to endure profane language being posting about him or her on his or her user page. The use of profane language in that situation would be clear violation of WP:PA.
I have explained myself already. I had nothing to do with the profane post on your talk page, nor did I know anything about it until you brought it up on this page. Once our conversation had migrated here, I removed your talk page from my watchlist. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 21:22, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
All these would reasonably contribute to the problem of lack of civility on Wikipedia. All these actions could cause a person not to want to contribute to Wikipedia. As for the apparent graffiti, no, do I believe you posted it. This sentence doesn't make sense... at first read, it seems like you are saying that you don't believe that I posted it, but your next statement presents the appearance that you do believe that I did? StrikerforceTalk Review me! 21:22, 15 April 2011 (UTC) This is especially true in light of your warning to anonymous user in question, as seen here. I thank you for that; however, as you state “[t]his user talk page might be watched by friendly talk page stalkers.” As I have been around for about five years on Wikipedia, and do not believe Ihave not had this occur before, it is quite alarming it was posted in the middle of our discussion. I do not beleive it was just a random occurrence. Finally, I do apologize for posting the profane language in question on your user talk page; however, I believe an accurate quote is better than not providing one. Sincerely Jvsett (talk) 17:11, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
No apology is needed. You brought the comment here as a direct quote, not as a new comment. In the context of our conversation, it was necessary. Once I'd seen it and responded as needed, I removed it.StrikerforceTalk Review me! 21:22, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Acceptable blogs for Wikipedia use

Hey, Strikerforce. I just wanted to state that regarding this edit, I believe it falls into the category of reliable-source blogs, per Wikipedia:Verfiability#Newspaper and magazine blogs. It's not a newspaper blog source, but it is a news blog source. I'm sure we're both in agreement that a better source than zap2it.com can be found for that same information if it is notable, though. Flyer22 (talk) 09:00, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Okay, I'll agree with that. I'm still not convinced, though, that the "cover" shown on that website and the Twitter account associated with Lady Gaga is, in fact, the actual album cover. If the only source that we (and other websites) have is a TwitPic, that's pretty weak, in my opinion. As far as our article here on Wikipedia, I don't believe that we can use a TwitPic as an acceptable source. If we do it for this, that may set a dangerous precedent down the road. But, that's just my opinion as one editor, of course. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 09:10, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
No problem. I definitely understand your concerns. Flyer22 (talk) 15:07, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
Oh, and regarding zap2it.com being a reliable source, I'm certainly not saying that all blogs reporting the news are reliable sources. I'm saying that it seems to fall in line with the professionalism aspect stated in the above link about using blogs on Wikipedia. I've seen zap2it.com used in plenty of articles, usually in regards to television (I even used it a couple of times for One Tree Hill (TV series) critical reception information months ago), and it's usually accepted as a reliable source. That makes me think that a blog coming from one of its writers reporting news is acceptable too. I'm not 100% on that. But, yeah, it's like you and I stated above. If this information is true/so notable, than a better source should be able to be found for it. Flyer22 (talk) 15:22, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

THANK YOU

I just wanted to say Thank you for clearing that up on my page. I really am glad you did that!

Speedy deletion declined: Erie Anime Experience

Hello Strikerforce. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Erie Anime Experience, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not an unambiguous copyright infringement, or there is other content to save. Thank you. PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 01:13, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

As I have just said in reply to your comment at the AfD, the link on the page for the copyright source went to their blog which didn't have their text. FYI

Hello Strikerforce. Thanks for the good editing that you do here at WikiP. Just to let you know that this edit [6] is incorrect. Just because an editor is going through the admin reconfirmation process does not mean that they have stopped being an admin. They still have all of their admin tools and they can perform normal admin functions. Only when an editor has be desysoped will they stop being an admin. I would add that you really should not edit another editors userpage at all. As opposed to articles userpages are considered exclusive to the user. If you have any question about something on a userpage you should a) ask the user about it or b) go to an appropriate noticeboard like AIV or WQA. I apologize if anything that I have said here has upset you as I was hoping to let you know how these things are handled. I hope that your move is (or has if it is finished) going well. Cheers and continued happy editing. MarnetteD | Talk 20:36, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

Erie Anime Experience

I want to know why you deleted erie anime experience page, if you don't allow anime convention pages then delete them all not just the ones you dislike. Now I know why the trade school I went to said not to trust anything on this site. You say to keep it neutral, the page was wrote with facts, that can be found on the EAE site as well as animecons.com and many more. I should tell everyone that Wiki is to bias and only allows content that the Admins want/like and heck with everyone else. (Kenshinkyo (talk) 14:04, 7 May 2011 (UTC)).

Hi! Did you read my notice above? I am not an administrator and do not have the power to delete pages. Like any editor on Wikipedia (including yourself), I do have the power to nominate pages for a deletion discussion and to participate in those discussions. In the case of this specific article, I did not make the nomination for deletion, nor did I offer a vote in the discussion, although I did participate. The main issue that I had with the article, as you wrote it, was that it was a direct copy and paste from the event's official website, which is a copyright violation and not permitted on Wikipedia. Once OTRS permission was granted, I had no problem with the article, which is why I did not offer a vote in the AfD discussion. Please take your soapboxing elsewhere. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 00:01, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

I am confused as to WHY you placed the tag on my Talk Page considering the fact that I COMPLETELY removed ALL of the information from there. I NEVER leave ANY of the information on my talk page NO LONGER than a day if that long so I don't see how that would constitute as "Promotion for my non-notable album." Yes, I create the articles for these albums but thats just to ensure they are in the correct format for when I create them for approval when they release and possibly gain notoriety. I do not know where to go or what to do to dispute this "tag for speedily deletion" or whatever so I feel I am a rock in a hard place. I do however, appreciate your professionalism in this regard and I regret that it has had to come to this.

Black Veil Brides

Hello,

I saw that there is some confusion as to my identity and the identity of user Jinxxed4Life (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest/Noticeboard#Black_Veil_Brides) . What can I do to prove to you and the rest of the community that we are who we say we are? I am new to Wikipedia so I am not familiar with all of the in's and outs of this site but I truly am the bands management. You can check their official Facebook page facebook.com/blackveilbrides and see that they have Mercenary Management listed in the info section for management contact. You can email me directly at Dan@mercenarymanagement.com . Unlike the other people editing the page I have a source to prove all of the info I post/edit and I have proper credentials to ensure its coming from reliable sources (the band themselves). The user Jinxx4life is in fact the real Jinxx as well. Please advise.

Thanks, Dan — Preceding unsigned comment added by BeAwareX1 (talkcontribs) 03:53, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I'm fairly certain that the status of the article is not about what you or the band "approves" (as you've said in an edit summary), but what can be contributed and properly referenced by Wikipedia's users (see WP:OWN for the policy governing this). Jinxx4life, as a member of the band, should not edit any article related to himself, the band, any of its albums, or any of its singles, because that would be a violation of Wikipedia's policy on conflict of interest. Your role, as the band's manager, probably also falls under COI, but there may be a loophole that I do not know about right off the top of my head. It would probably be better to reach out to an administrator such as Gfoley4, HJ Mitchell, or any of the other folks listed here. I have left a talkback template on the talk pages of the two specific administrators that I mentioned, so one of them may drop by this page shortly. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 04:10, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
We're not trying to own the article or make any changes based on preference. The only changes I made were factual. The band being based out of Hollywood, Ca is a fact and is referenced in numerous interviews and articles. The band originating from Cincinnati, OH is just a rumor. None of the original members ever lived there at the time of playing in BVB. They were from cities spread all across OH (Cincinnati not being one of them). Furthermore the Never Give In EP never existed. It was completely made up, as is the studio that it was recorded in. It's Wikipedias policy that such things need to have a verifiable source. I saw nothing citing a source, because it was totally made up. We just want to provide factual info and dispel any rumors and bogus info on their page.
I'm new to Wiki so I dont know all of the in's and out's but I would be happy to provide any of the editors with proper information regarding the band so that everything in the article is 100% fact, and possibly even add in some more stuff that isn't in the article yet. Thanks for taking the time to address my concerns, I really appreciate it. BeAwareX1 (talk) 04:50, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
Hello. You say that "numerous interviews and articles" have said that the band is originally from Hollywood, California. So cite them (when the article is unlocked), provided they are reliable sources. The main thing that you need to watch out for when editing with a conflict of interest, is writing with a nuetral point-of-view. This is something I believe you can do!

P.S. I also think that Atama's comments are very helpful! GFOLEY FOUR— 17:42, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

Hey guys can we please get that Never Give In EP and California DGK Studios removed from the Black Veil Brides discography? That EP never existed. If there is one floating around its a bootleg and not released by the band. Also they have never recorded at a place called California DGK Studios. Though at times, you can be pretty annoying, you are also very good at what you do for this site! Thanks again! Keep up the good work my friend! :) BiggKhrisco (talk) 03:08, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

Nicki Minaj

I watched her interview with Ellen DeGeneres where Ellen stated that Nicki was 26, and she agreed. Plus, Bio.com states that she is 26. Cloverboy19 (talk) 02:51, 25 July 2011 (EST)

Bio.com, if I remember correctly, is essentially another Wiki. The interview can not be used because there is no way of citing it as a reference. The police report is still the most reliable source that we have. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 18:58, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

Edit Warring Reminder

Nothing personal, but according to the guidelines on the Speedy page:

The criteria for speedy deletion specify the only cases in which administrators have broad consensus support to, at their discretion, bypass deletion discussion and immediately delete Wikipedia pages or media. They cover only the cases specified in the rules below.

...

If speedy deletion has been removed by an editor other than the page's creator who has indicated a plausible reason for the decline or removal, then the page should not be considered an obvious case and should not be re-tagged for the same type of speedy deletion. The page could be tagged under another applicable criterion, e.g., if it is later found that the page is a copyright violation.

Now, the rules on Speedy seem quite clear to me. If I give a plausible reason, which I believe I have, then you need to consider this a non-obvious case, and take it through the normal deletion process. If you need more clarification, please feel free to ask, but at this point, I am considering this to be edit warring, since the guidelines on this are quite clear. Thanks, and happy editing. -- Avanu (talk) 02:27, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Your reason is not plausible, per my edit summaries and the note that I just left on your page. I am also not edit warring, again as explained on your talk page. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 02:30, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Nomination of WKQX for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article WKQX is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/WKQX until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 02:53, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

WKQX.

You nominated the article twice. I've tagged the second nomination for speedy speedy deletion. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 03:01, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Yes, Twinkle, for some reason, is attempting to place the original nomination on WWWN, the destination article of the redirect. I attempted to undo that placement and put it back on the redirect, which created the second nomination. Any help that you might be able to lend in getting the nomination on the proper page would be much appreciated! StrikerforceTalk Review me! 03:03, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
Do you have the proof of what happened to the WKQX letters? I'd be happy to put that information in the WWWN article until the WKQX article can be written. Meanwhile, I've been working hard to redirect the links to WWWN. Some I can't find. And there seem to be many more today.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 15:43, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
The WWWN-FM call letters were most recently associated with a small Watseka, IL radio station that isn't even operating currently. That little station just happens to be owned by Radioactive LLC. Radioactive LLC happens to be wholly owned by Randy Michaels. Randy Michaels also just so happens to be the CEO of Merlin Media LLC, who is the new operator of 101.1 FM in Chicago. At the start of this year, the Watseka radio station used the call letters of WMLF-FM, but Radioactive LLC requested they be changed to WWWN-FM last month, in anticipation of the WKQX-FM take over. The WKQX-FM call letters now belong to the small, dark station in Watseka.

WKQX listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect WKQX. Since you had some involvement with the WKQX redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 03:03, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

  • I see what you were trying to do, but please don't blank redirects. I've filed it at WP:RFD, which is where redirects should go. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 03:04, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
You might want to fix up the introduction at the MfD, since it has TenPound's signature and short intro on it. I'd be happy to fix it to look like your comment if you like, it is just less easy to follow as it is now. -- Avanu (talk) 03:11, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Jim Tressel Edits

Hi StrikerForce..I believe (and I'm new to editing so bear with me)...you reverted a change to JT coaching record. What is listed is wrong as after vacating the wins of season 2010..JT's record is 94 wins not 82. With the 2010 season his wins total at OSU is 106. I was just correcting those values where necessary.

Thanks.

Marry You

Hi there, can we use this source to say that "Marry You" is a single? Oz talk 07:40, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

In my opinion, no, because that is essentially a blog and blogs typically do not meet the guidelines of RS. But, start a talk page discussion on the Marry You article and let's get a consensus. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 13:50, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
I think its an airplay-only release. Its getting played on mainstream radio and urban radio in the United Kingdom. Oz talk 23:14, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
I can live with that, I suppose. But, I would say that the "song" infobox should be used, rather than the "single" one, until it can be shown by citing an RS that the song was intended to be a single. There are occasions when radio will play an album cut, for no real reason at all, without the label actually intending for it to be a single. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 08:40, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Digital Spy (which is a reliable source) says it was released on August 21. But it doesn't say how it was released though because iTunes, Amazon or 7 Digital don't have its single release. Oz talk 11:44, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

Remember that RFCs are part of Dispute Resolution and at times may take place in a heated environment. Please take a look at the relevant RFC page before responding and be sure that you are willing and able to enter that environment and contribute to making the discussion a calm and productive one focussed on the content issue at hand. See also Wikipedia:Requests for comment#Suggestions for responding.

Greetings! You have been randomly selected to receive an invitation to participate in the request for comment on Wikipedia talk:Verifiability. Should you wish to respond to the invitation, your contribution to this discussion will be very much appreciated! However, please note that your input will carry no greater weight than anyone else's: remember that an RFC aims to reach a reasoned consensus position, and is not a vote. In support of that, your contribution should focus on thoughtful evaluation of the issues and available evidence, and provide further relevant evidence if possible.

Feedback Dashboard task force

Hi Strikerforce,

Since you were a part of the WikiGuides project, I thought I'd give you a heads-up about a new way you can help/mentor newbies on en.wiki: we've recently released a feature called the Feedback Dashboard, a queue that updates in real time with feedback and editing questions from new registered contributors who have attempted to make at least one edit. Steven Walling and I are putting together a task force for experienced Wikipedians who might be interested in monitoring the queue and responding to the feedback: details are here at Wikipedia:Feedback Dashboard. Please sign up if you're interested in helping out! Thanks, Maryana (WMF) (talk) 22:07, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

Format Of KJLH

User:San Diego Ca has kept reverting the format of KJLH to urban contemporary, and they're still not urban. Despite the rap tracks, they remain the only urban AC station in Los Angeles. Mediabase & Nielsen BDS still report the station on the urban AC panel, and KJLH is widely known as an urban AC. -- Bull-Doser (talk) 19:05, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

Also, he kept changing the WQHT page, and WQHT is rhythmic contemporary as it is per Mediabase/Nielsen BDS reports, not urban contemporary. WWPR-FM is urban contemporary. -- Bull-Doser (talk) 06:41, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

An admin called "Oleola" insulted me.

hi. i'm not threating anybody. but do your admins have the rights to insult people? I am just complaining about him/her.

My talk page is not the proper forum for this. Please take it to the proper noticeboard. Also, as I pointed out, the user that you appear to have an issue with is not an administrator. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 02:24, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
I do not know where the proper forum for this. may you orient me? where can i complain him/her?
Regarding [7], we both know there can be no good outcome of that thread, and I can handle it better without interference from the people who will be commenting there. I can close it as resolved instead if you want, but... Prodego talk 02:30, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Works for me. I was merely curious to why the thread was deleted with nothing more than a "snip" as the edit summary. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 02:32, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
I do tend to use that from time to time. Roughly equivalent to the summary 'improve Wikipedia'. Prodego talk 02:54, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

WFAN-FM

I have completed the history merge for WFAN-FM as requested. Please ensure that the version of the article that you want is showing, and if it isn't, please restore the desired revision. Also, if I got the titles backwards (though I suspect I did it right), a page move to the other title should work without additional assistance. SchuminWeb (Talk) 06:11, 6 November 2012 (UTC)

Minus a few minor housekeeping changes, it appears to be correct. I am headed to bed for the night. If someone hasn't beat me to it, I'll make the changes that I've seen that need to be made at some point later today. Thanks for your help! StrikerforceTalk Review me! 06:58, 6 November 2012 (UTC)

{{admin help}} I am not sure how to do this, but here is something that will need to be done, once the call letter swap is official - KBWX, currently assigned to the 100.3 frequency in St Louis, flipped formats today. However, it is actually a format swap and a flip, in one combined move, as KMJM, currently assigned to 104.9 in the market, picked up a Rhythmic Top 40 format. The Classic Rock format that WAS on 100.3 is now gone. From what I understand, it is Clear Channel's intention to swap the call letters, i.e., KMJM stays with the "Majic" brand and moves to 100.3, with KBWX going up the dial to 104.9 to be paired with the "Wild" brand that is now on 104.9. My question is, how do we maintain a continuity of each article's history? As it stands right now, the two articles are correct in listing the current formats, but if we are truly trying to maintain the integrity of the articles with their current formats...? (Was anyone able to follow that and understand what I'm getting at, because I think I just confused myself!) StrikerforceTalk Review me! 01:44, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

That was incredibly confusing, but you sound like you know what you're talking about. I'm sure if you edit the articles the way you see fit, and add reliable third party references to all the changes you have made, then that should be fine. -- Patchy1 02:07, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
Whew! I'd like to think I'm a reasonably bright individual and I read that 4 times and still don't entirely grasp it. As Patchy said, it sounds like you know what you're doing, so as long as you reference it, I can't imagine anyone having any problem with it. As for the question, I am not sure I entirely understand what you're asking...so the two stations flipped formats and call letters. Are the articles correct as of this flip/swap? Go Phightins! 03:23, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
As of this moment, the KMJM call letters are still on 104.9, but the Urban AC format that was on that signal is now on 100.3, which is KBWX. From what I understand, Clear Channel intends to swap the call letters between the two frequencies, making 104.9 KBWX and 100.3 KMJM. How do we make that change with the article titles, without copying the contents of both articles into Word or something similar, deleting both articles, and creating them again with the previous material in the proper place (i.e., the material from KMJM on the 104.9 frequency is created in a new KMJM article with the 100.3 frequency and vice versa)? It almost feels like we need to say a prayer or two that Clear Channel applies for new call letters for 104.9! StrikerforceTalk Review me! 17:00, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
The articles will need to be moved correctly, copying and pasting content is not allowed. So when is the change happening? Can you provide some references here so I can familiarize myself, also can you link both articles concerned to here as well. -- Patchy1 01:02, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
Articles are KMJM and KBWX. Not sure when the call letter swap is going to happen - or IF they're going to happen, for sure, yet. My only knowledge is that Clear Channel would like to keep the KMJM call letters associated with the "Majic" brand name that just moved from 104.9 (KMJM) to 100.3 (KBWX). StrikerforceTalk Review me! 02:49, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
So by the looks of the changes made to the articles and this reference, the change occurred on the 7th of November.
ADMIN HELP: The aforementioned articles need their titles/content swapped to reflect recent changes. -- Patchy1 05:44, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
Yes check.svg Done I've swapped the pages. Reaper Eternal (talk) 19:20, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

Peoria Rivermen (AHL) & Utica Comets

Standard AHL convention is to give each team its own separate page (as you can see with the Springfield Indians and Worcester IceCats having their own pages); I am in the process of creating a NEW one for the Comets; please leave the Rivermen's one alone to reflect its own history. Thank you. Tom Danson (talk) 18:54, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

How about being a little more polite with your request, please? "Please leave the Rivermen's alone" is a bit rough around the edges. You could have said that in another way that didn't come across so rudely, sir. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 19:00, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
I said "please" and "thank you," didn't I? If that's not polite, I don't know what is. Tom Danson (talk) 19:15, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

User:Bull-Doser

Hello Strikerforce. I hope everything is okay with you.

I'm writing to let you know that Bull-Doser was socking today with the account User:DroleDesHits. I'm also letting you know that I will be completely retiring (I was already on semi-retired mode) and that I will exercise my right to vanish. I've started a new career and as long as my account exist, I will always have a tendancy to use it when I'm actually trying to actually stay away from Wikipedia (due to time constraints and lack of interest).

I know that you are very busy these days. But from times to times, if you can, would you mind checking radio station articles just to see there isn't any socking activity going on in them if you know what I mean. If I were you, would start by checking the CKMF-FM and CKOI-FM since these seems to be Bull-Doser favorite articles.

In any case, I wish you well in whatever endeavors you are currently pursuing. Take care. Farine (talk) 16:17, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

I am sorry to see you go. I will try to keep an eye on the pages that B-D was known to frequent, but I'm afraid that my RL responsibilities just don't lend much time to being able to edit Wikipedia these days. Best of luck to you in your endeavors. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 06:17, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

Big 12 stadiums navbox, etc.

Hey, Strikerforce. I see that you have restored the navbox to the Cotton Bowl article, and added the Cotton Bowl link to the navbox. The fact that the stadium was not linked in the navbox was the primary reason I deleted the navbox from the Cotton Bowl article. That having been said, I question whether it is appropriate to add the Cotton Bowl link to the navbox when all of the other venues are home field stadiums. If you start adding neutral site stadiums, you might as well add the stadiums for all of the Big 12 tie-in bowl games, but I don't think that's what was intended nor do I think that is the accepted WP:CFB standard. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 14:49, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

I've added the Cotton Bowl stadium to the navbox. The Cotton Bowl stadium has been the host of the Red River Rivalry game for many years and is a designated "home" stadium for either Texas or Oklahoma each season. I think that the difference between it and the conference bowl game tie-in host stadiums is that CBS is consistent every season and hosts the same teams, where a bowl game tie-in host stadium would host - more than likely - a different team each season. I'm horrible at Wiki talk but usually when stations apply for a call sign change and in which case Emmis did so yesterday 1/29 they can start using the new call sign as soon as they reserve them. chances are by Monday the FCC Database will have them in place as KNOU. Radio geek in me thinks they are making new ID's for Monday @BeamRadio
