84.154.104.16
I first reported vandalism by 84.154.104.16 (aka 84.154.91.20 84.154.102.141, 84.154.63.43, 84.154.114.240, 84.154.109.26, 84.154.126.152) in Safavids page on February 16. I informed that an anon user 84.154.xxx.xxx has been continuously vandalizing the page by replacing the content with nonsence and abusive words. Frankly, I am surprised that no reaction followed despite obvious and repeated cases of vandalism combined with personal abuse.
Last, eighth(!) case of vandalism by user 84.154.xx.xx was carried out three days ago on Feb 24 (pls, see diff here). In order to confuse the editors this user repeatedly acted in a very malicious manner, putting innocent comments for history log (such as, "sp", "added precision to beginnings", "correction", "stylistic improvement", "refer to discussion") while simultaneously replacing the content with nonsense and abuse.
Below you can compare all 8 (eight) vandalisms by this anon user:
* First vandalism, intentionally putting nonsense and adding adjective "Turkic" to virtually every nown, thus insulting Turkic belonging of certain editors;
* Second vandalism, adding nonsense and further abuses;
* Third vandalism, same as above;
* Fourth vandalism;
* Fifth vandalism;
* Sixth vandalism;
* Seventh vandalism.
* Last eighth vandalism
Hope this case of vandalism will be dealt more seriously this time and the vandal will be punished.--Tabib 14:13, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Please only use this page for repeated malicious vandalism, not for one-off edits, or newbie tests. If you discover newbie testing and feel like the user could use some help, please list them at Wikipedia:Clueless newbies. Except in cases of vandalbot or other rapid-fire attacks, please warn users and wait for further vandalism before listing them here. Do not list non-vandalism (see Cautions and alternatives below).

Cautions and alternatives
Please do not bite the newcomers by listing newbie tests as vandalism. Instead, assume good faith and list them at Wikipedia:Clueless newbies. If you suspect an edit may be vandalism but are unsure, list the edit on RC patrol. See NPOV dispute, Accuracy dispute and Requests for comment for content disputes. Page protection may be requested. Report three revert rule violations at WP:AN/3RR.
If you come across very recent vandalism where it seems that the perpetrator should be blocked immediately (and has already been warned), try listing your report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism.

    Requests for investigation
    This page is not a noticeboard. To report vandalism, use the administrators' vandalism noticeboard.

    This page summarises a limited number of long term abusers, to assist members of the community who believe they may have cause to report another incident. Note that this page is not a noticeboard. Names should only be added for the most egregious and well-attested cases. Most users here will have been banned, some on multiple occasions.

    Cautionary notes
    Don't provide too much info
    The text should tread a careful balance between providing useful information and providing enough to obstruct detection. In general such information should only be shared with users of a high level of reputation.
    Hints on useful info
    Consider providing just a summary of the behaviors and nature of disruption, key case pages (SPI/ANI/RFAR), and the names of current experienced users familiar with the abuser (with their "giveaways", history, behavior traits, etc.)
    Don't use LTA unless needed
    Only add vandals that have a need to be pointed out, especially ones whose contributions could be confused for good-faith edits by somebody unfamiliar with their modus operandi. This includes sneaky sockpuppeteers, prolific trolls, POV-pushers, editors who add deliberately false or biased information and promotional editors. Blatant vandals whose sockpuppet accounts would be blocked swiftly as vandalism-only even if they weren't evading a previous block usually do not need to be listed here.
    Use language carefully
    Do not use language that glorifies vandalism. Do not use relative time phrases such as "lately", "recently" without qualification (use "As of date...").

    For help, please ask on the project's talk page or contact one of the helpers. You may also be interested in the filing instructions, but again, please be mindful of DENY. If you need more information on an user listed here, your best bet would be to contact the user that submitted the report, which can be found in the page history.

I informed that an anon user 84.154.xxx.xxx has been continuously vandalizing the page by replacing the content with nonsence and abusive words. Frankly, I am surprised that no reaction followed despite obvious and repeated cases of vandalism combined with personal abuse. Last, eighth(!) case of vandalism by user 84.154.xx.xx was carried out three days ago on Feb 24 (pls, see [here]).

    Hope this case of vandalism will be dealt more seriously this time and the vandal will be punished.--Tabib 14:13, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)

      • I’m sorry to be so persistent about 198.81.26.42, but this person’s antics have become tiresome at best. The anonymous comments defending Anuzutica at VfD/Anuzutica are originating from IP addresses 198.81.26.42 and 64.12.116.74, both of which are AOL. Both of these IP addresses are also defending Muddy joy on its VfD page (where s/he made a similar accusation of racism, only this time claimed to be American Indian (why not claim both, if applicable?)). Note that both articles Anuzutica and Muddy joy were originally created from the same IP address 64.12.116.138, which is also AOL. I strongly suspect all three IP addresses are the same person (or persons, coordinating their efforts). I also believe the same user may have used 198.81.26.15 (added link to Anuzutica from Derg) and 198.81.26.46 (added a link to Anuzutica from Ethiopia, and then vandalized Ethiopia following the link's removal; subsequently listed here.) And FWIW, this person’s accusations of racism themselves come off as racist parody. -- Gyrofrog 22:57, 23 Feb 2005 (UTC)

      • User:Box of Rice, previously 219.77.xxx.xxx (see elsewhere on this page) is back, reposting his would-be humorous article on Cabbage hit after it was speedily deleted -- deleted with his full knowledge, as it was he who nominated it for VfD (denying that he'd written it) -- and writing stupid comments on others' discussion pages. If it isn't overt vandalism, it's blatant and repeated time-wasting, with faked failure to understand that anything could be wrong with his asinine articles (rightly speedied). -- Hoary 10:01, 2005 Feb 23 (UTC)

User is also removing valid information from articles.[9] [10]--Deglr6328 06:02, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)
        This is a content dispute, not vandalism. The parties should pursue dispute resolution. And 220 should create an account. Gazpacho

    Rather, Deglr is squawking that I added a perfectly scientific critique of the RNA world hypothesis. Evidently he wants to quash all criticism, which would mean that the article ceases to be NPOV. Deglr also complained that I removed a link to self-replicating peptides from it, but objected to a link to DNA instability that had far more to do with the topic! Evidently he doesn't understand chemistry.

    Of course, I never said anything about how "atheistic leftists" are out to get ME. Rather, I pointed out that Deglr commits the genetic fallacy by thinking that the scientific arguments can be discredited simply by pointing out that it comes from an intelligent design journal; he doesn't seem to mind when articles come from strident antitheists, so likewise have a religio-ideological axe to grind.220.244.224.8 06:34, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)

    • I saw what appeared to be maybe a hundred or so robot like vandalizations in a dozen minutes or so from a single source called "Wikipedia Armed Naked Kommandos". I see from the above "but there are a LOT of page move vandalisms to sort out again" that it APPEARS someone is going to revert a robot BY HAND. Why? Scripts can be written to automatically undo every change made by xxx between time aaa and bbb. Find a volunteer (not me). I bet Google would LOVE to help. (signed just_passing_through)
      • It wasn't that many actually and one or two put their hands to sorting it out. And just because I'm an admin that doesn't mean I'm technologically minded enough to even know what a script is, or to be able to identify a vandalbot or someone doing it by hand very very quickly. -- Francs2000 | Talk [[]] 01:49, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC)
      • What we really need is a page-move log (similar to the other logs), with a rollback button for admins. And if there are no incoming links to the moved name, rollback would automatically delete it (so we don't have orphan "X on wheels" redirects lying around everywhere). -- Curps 23:17, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC)

    User Tabib himself continuously vandalizes pages, by deleting pertinent editorial text and posting abusive nonsense instead. Most of his postings, particularly the ones on the pages Safavids and Talk, constitute POV or ethnically directed insults. His postings are prone to contain references to TURKS, TURKOMANS, TURKEYS and related TURKISH matters. Roughly 65 % of his other postings are concerned with editing wars and abusive attacks of fellow editors. He has attempted to incite others to team up against victims of his obsessive "Turkification" assaults, e.g. user Deli-Eshek. • Now this is a weird case here. There were some Japanese articles that were on en.wikipedia that looked legit. Like, I read them, and they are about a husband and wife who are announcers with MBS. See my translations at Mareo Kamei and Keiko Furukawa. I thought this was a fine piece of knowledge to be adding. Also, when I looked at the links to the Japanese ones, there were no pages. So, I translated and transwikied. Then I got a message on my talk page saying that this user was banner from ja.wikipedia and just moved his articles to the en.wikipedia. It isn't really vandalism, but it does appear to be not quite kosher. The user over at Japanese wikipedia, [ja:%E5%88%A9%E7%94%A8%E8%80%85%E2%80%90%E4%BC%9A%E8%A9%B1:Lem], suggested we ban him. So, um, do we delete these seemingly fine (if not a bit short) articles and ban this user like the ja.wikipedia has, or do we just let it silde?! I have NO IDEA. What do you guys think? Jeshii 13:26, Feb 10, 2005 (UTC)
        • This isn't really a case of vandalism. If your knowledge of Japan is sufficient and you considered these people sufficiently notable and you are the author of the current English-language pages and endorse their content, then there's really not a problem. There are many cases where a possible problem user started an article and somebody turned it into a legitimate article. -- Curps 01:33, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)

      • I'm not sure how to handle this. This guy has been posting (and reverting after his posts were removed) several minority Nazi religion and holocaust denial sites and references throughout articles such as God (eg: a list of religions said "Christianity, Hinduism, Cosmotheism, Buddhism".. and I started singing, "one of these things is not like the other....")

        • OK, I guess page-move vandalism is considered particularly heinous (although this was a user page rather than article pages). He was blocked for 24 hours back then, but I'll block indefinitely, since his edits are either outright vandalism or in some cases simply silly at the very least ("a European" → "an European"). Also, the page moves seem to have been his first contribution, so there's a good chance that the account was created simply for the purpose of page moves. -- Curps 09:50, 6 Feb 2005 (UTC)

    The Lawn Gnome Bandit has struck my user page. I'm trying to decide if I'll revert it. GabrielF 04:43, 6 Feb 2005 (UTC)
    I think we can consider the incident finished. FWIW the LGB posted the following on my talk page: "Hey, I know the whole gnome thing was probably vandalism and I agree that it should probably get removed, but I just wanted to see how long it would stay before someone took it down. MCBastos 16:39, 5 Feb 2005 (UTC)

    Actually, they're two different users. The vandal (possibly Willy on Wheels) used the user name User:RdSmith4 to impersonate the admin User:Rdsmith4. The vandal copied the user and user talk pages to make it more convincing. Carrp 16:43, 5 Feb 2005 (UTC)

    • PHP is being vandalized by some sort of spam bot, which deletes large sections of the page and replaces them with external links. The edits come from multiple IPs, and typically happen very quickly, filling up the page history. These IPs are not open proxies but they are from such spam-friendly places as Brazil and Russia, and many of them are already on spam blocklists. I'm afraid this may be a testing run, since it is currently only happening on this one article. Please be on the look out. Rhobite 04:43, Feb 5, 2005 (UTC)
      • Not just PHP either. The last two were open proxies by the way, so I suspect the rst may be trojaned machines or similar. --fvw* 04:55, 2005 Feb 5 (UTC)
        • If they're open proxies please block them indefinitely. Are you testing them yourself? I usually just use openrbl.org to check if they're on blocklists. Every IP I've checked is on some sort of spam blacklist. Most are in countries known for spam, the last one was in Hong Kong. Oh yeah I came here to ask, should we protect PHP for a while? Although that would probably just drive them on to another target. Rhobite 06:15, Feb 5, 2005 (UTC)
          • I've protected the article for now. Did it before I even read this.  :) Which IDs are the proxies? RickK 06:52, Feb 5, 2005 (UTC)

    The reason Deathphoenix is saying that bans on AOL IPs should be short is that, on AOL, the same IP may be assigned to more than one person. Mateo SA | talk 22:10, Feb 3, 2005 (UTC)
