4-Methylamphetamine (4-MA; PAL-313; Aptrol) is a psychoactive drug and research chemical of the phenethylamine and amphetamine chemical classes. It acts as a norepinephrine-dopamine releasing agent (NDRA) and produces stimulant and anorectic effects.[1][2] Unlike most other para-substituted amphetamines, 4-methylamphetamine has negligible efficacy as a releaser of serotonin.[1] It was investigated as an appetite suppressant under the trade name Aptrol in 1952, but development was apparently never completed.[2]
