Crops

Adoor is one of the biggest producers of coconut, bananas and tapioca. Here mousambi is grown, including red coconuts and red bananas. The soil in Adoor is good for cultivation and is from the minerals given by the rivers achenkovil and kallada. A lot of paan trees are grown here

Transportation

Adoor being the centre of Kerala has good highways and roads for the pleasure of travel and for the shipment of goods. Adoor has the Mc road passing through it till Trivandrum and the NH-183A passing through Adoor connecting Bharanikavu and other major places. The Mc road in Adoor-Pandalam route is a 4 laned road and is very good for travelling without any guters or broken roads. A bypass of MC-Road has been built for travelling to Other places without touching the main Adoor Town. The Bypass starts from Nelimutipaddy in Adoor and ends at Karuvatta in Adoor nearly the end of Adoor. The Kayamkulam-Punalur road also passes through Adoor making it the centre of Kayamkulam and Punalur. KP Road connects Adoor to other important towns like Pathanapuram and Charummood. People mostly use MC-Road in Adoor for travelling to Trivandrum other than using NH-47 to avoid traffic-jams and heat of the coastal areas touching the NH-47. The MC-Road gives pleasure and safety to travellers with no traffic-jams so people mostly take the Adoor-Trivandrum route for travelling to Trivandrum. Also with the NH-220 connecting Kollam.

Railways

The nearest railway stations are at Kayamkulam, Chengannur and Tiruvalla. A railway station was implemented to come in Adoor but this plan was shifted to Mavelikkara. Now ideas are being put up for bringing a major railway station to Adoor very soon. The proposed railway station will be having railway flyovers and nearly 8 tracks with a big station.
