London Buses route 199 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Bellingham and Canada Water station, it is operated by Stagecoach London.

History[edit]

Route 199 commenced on 27 April 1991 as a daytime service between Elephant & Castle and Lewisham Riverdale Centre. The route was operated by Selkent from Catford garage with Leyland Titans. On the 8 October 1994 the route was extended from Lewisham to Catford garage.[1]

On 18 September 1999 the route was withdrawn between Elephant & Castle and Canada Water. On 1 January 2000, route 199 was converted to Low floor operation with Alexander ALX400 bodied Dennis Trident 2s.[1]

In January 2012, route 199 was retained by Stagecoach London with new Alexander Dennis Enviro400s.
