London Buses route 407 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Caterham and Sutton, it is operated by Abellio London.

History[edit]

Route 407 commenced operating on 31 August 1991 between Wallington and Caterham station replacing parts of routes 197A and 403 operating out of South London's Croydon garage. Upon being tendered, it passed to London & Country's Beddington Farm garage on 29 October 1994, being extended from Wallington to Sutton on the same date.[1]

On 30 October 1999, a new contract was commenced by Arriva London. On 1 September 2001, the route was returned to Croydon depot. Arriva London commenced a further contract on 30 October 2004.[1]

When next tendered, route 407 was awarded to Abellio London's Beddington Cross garage effective 30 October 2009. Abellio London commenced a further contract on 1 November 2014.[1][2]
