1-(2-Pyrimidinyl)piperazine (1-PP) is a psychoactive drug and research chemical of the piperazine and azapirone chemical classes. It acts as an α2-adrenergic receptor antagonist,[1] and as a 5-HT1A receptor partial agonist to a much lesser extent.[2] It is not known to have any significant affinity for the D2 receptor. 1-PP is a common metabolite of buspirone, gepirone, ipsapirone, and tandospirone, but not alnespirone, and likely contributes to their side effect profiles.[1][3]
