Municipally, Sunnyside falls within the riding of Ward 7 currently held by Alderman Druh Farrell.[5] Provincially, Sunnyside is located in the electoral district of Calgary Mountain View[6] and is held by Liberal MLA David Swann. On the federal level, Sunnyside resides in the electoral district (called a riding) of Calgary Centre-North and is held by MP Jim Prentice.
