UFC 148 is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by Ultimate Fighting Championship. It is expected to take place on July 7, 2012 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.[1]

Background

The UFC Fan Expo is scheduled to coincide with this event.[2]

Jeff Hougland was expected to face Renan Barão at the event, but Hougland instead replaced Mike Easton to face Yves Jabouin at UFC on Fuel TV 3. Ivan Menjivar stepped in to replace Hougland and fight Barão.[3]

The expected rematch between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen, originally scheduled to take place at UFC 147 was moved to this event due to a scheduling conflict with the UN Conference, Rio+20, which will be occurring during the same time frame as the UFC event.[4] On April 24, the change was confirmed.[5]

Announced Bouts

The following fights have been confirmed by UFC.com, but not yet added to the Official Fight Card.
