Cautions and alternatives
Please do not bite the newcomers by listing newbie tests as vandalism. Instead, assume good faith and list them at Wikipedia:Clueless newbies. If you suspect an edit may be vandalism but are unsure, list the edit on RC patrol. See NPOV dispute, Accuracy dispute and Requests for comment for content disputes. Page protection may be requested. Report three revert rule violations at WP:AN/3RR.
If you come across very recent vandalism where it seems that the perpetrator should be blocked immediately (and has already been warned), try listing your report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism.

    Requests for investigation
This page is not a noticeboard. To report vandalism, use the administrators' vandalism noticeboard.

This page summarises a limited number of long term abusers, to assist members of the community who believe they may have cause to report another incident. Note that this page is not a noticeboard. Names should only be added for the most egregious and well-attested cases. Most users here will have been banned, some on multiple occasions.

    Cautionary notes
    Don't provide too much info
The text should tread a careful balance between providing useful information and providing enough to obstruct detection. In general such information should only be shared with users of a high level of reputation.
    Hints on useful info
Consider providing just a summary of the behaviors and nature of disruption, key case pages (SPI/ANI/RFAR), and the names of current experienced users familiar with the abuser (with their "giveaways", history, behavior traits, etc.)
    Don't use LTA unless needed
Only add vandals that have a need to be pointed out, especially ones whose contributions could be confused for good-faith edits by somebody unfamiliar with their modus operandi. This includes sneaky sockpuppeteers, prolific trolls, POV-pushers, editors who add deliberately false or biased information and promotional editors. Blatant vandals whose sockpuppet accounts would be blocked swiftly as vandalism-only even if they weren't evading a previous block usually do not need to be listed here.
    Use language carefully
Do not use language that glorifies vandalism. Do not use relative time phrases such as "lately", "recently" without qualification (use "As of date...").

For help, please ask on the project's talk page or contact one of the helpers. You may also be interested in the filing instructions, but again, please be mindful of DENY. If you need more information on an user listed here, your best bet would be to contact the user that submitted the report, which can be found in the page history.

This image is being used by several vandals to vandalize people's talk pages and also several articles, the last of which was Anton Chekhov. Not to mention this is blatantly pornographic and God help us if a minor logs on and sees it. It should be deleted at once and the vandals who use it should be banned. -Husnock 26Mar05

      • Has added links to amazon.com in many articles, presumably to earn referral credit. Has been told to stop, and seems to have complied, but I need help removing the extensive spam from their contributions. Also note that user with similar IP 192.77.198.12 (talk · contributions) has done the same, and spam from that user should be removed too. -Deadcorpse 22:36, Mar 25, 2005 (UTC)
        • See also the discussion at Wikipedia:Help desk#Amazon_Links. I've removed what spam I could find but it's possible that there's more somewhere. I believe there is a blacklist of some kind that prevents known spammers from adding certain links - you get an error message if you try to save an article with such a link in it. I don't know who can edit this list, whether it's admins or just developers, but if anyone who sees this has the ability it might be worth adding amazon links containing the string "atreasustrove" to it if that's technically possible. This person is even creating articles on non-notable reality TV contestants consisting of a single sentence plus a link to the DVD of the series. There may be other IP addresses involved. — Trilobite (Talk) 23:00, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)

        • Actually, I'm not so sure that this is intended as vandalism. WWF wrestling is pretty choreographed, and wrestlers are supposed to elicit a specific response from the audience (cheering/booing/etc.). That may be what this person is trying to put in the article, though putting it in a form such as "The typical crowd response to so-and-so was negative" would be better. Though I'm not sure if even that would be correct, since the crowd response would depend on the situation. - Evil saltine 05:38, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)

        • Sorry, I think I may have screwed up Sjakkalle's move back. The first of these misdirected user pages that I noticed was Grutness's. I simply moved him back. No problem. I was about to mention Mookore 2005 on this page but noticed that he'd already been written up and thought I'd do Sjakkalle a favor. So I first deleted the existing redirect (which I hadn't done for Grutness), and then attempted to move the page back. Didn't work, sorry! Incidentally, I'm sure that this little twit "Mookore" enjoys any and all attention paid to him, so let's not talk about him. -- Hoary 10:50, 2005 Mar 22 (UTC)
          • Don't worry too much about my user page, it was not old and contained nothing more interesting than a vfd-essay and a chess game. But block Mookore NOW. I am liberal, but have little tolerance for vandals. Sjakkalle 10:54, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)
            • There's no point blocking him; it would merely raise from 98% to 100% the possibility that he'd get a new username to continue his silliness. -- Hoary 11:02, 2005 Mar 22 (UTC)

Whereas part of his POV pushing and disruptive actions aimed at provoking a new revert war, such continuous and repeated removal of a page paragraph, combined with foul edit summaries (e.g. last one: "Rempved changes by turkish guy Tabib Huseynov" - whereas he himself removed a paragraph which is, moreover, not written by me), clearly constitutes a vandalism.--Tabib 11:24, Mar 14, 2005 (UTC)

This user's first edit was today. The last vandalism was to change the top of this page (Wikipedia:Vandalism in Progress) from where it says "report vandalism here" to "report vandalism on different page." Not a big deal, but they first replaced the entire user page at User:Neutrality to "YOU SUCK you cant block me-jerk" which leads me to believe the account was created just for a beef. Every single edit has been vandalism, including replacing a sentence in MLCAD with, and I quote "gsfgsdfgfeatures." They also replaced nearly a screen's length of text with "duringasdfasdfasdfsubjects" at Monk. A similar change was made at Waterlow Park. And finally, the user replaced most of Cooperative with "Nuetrality is gay." --Dmcdevit 03:01, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Interestingly, I just noticed that Neutrality lists a "Punk2" as having vandalized his page before (and a check on Punk2's contributions shows that their two contributions were both vandalism).--Dmcdevit 03:09, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Images Image:A-simpson-shadow-sitting.jpg and Image:Cryingafterlipsync.jpg (and probably others) have been replaced with goatse.

While on march 10 the image only resided for 10 minutes, the image remained directly linked on the main page for over half an hour on march 11. This is likely to repeat itself if the user is not barred. It is extremely difficult for normal users to revert this, as one has to edit the URL in order to reach the edit page of the vandalised article. I think he's trying to see how long he can go before we realise he's here to cause trouble. Some of his edits make it pretty clear that's what he's up to. Articles he has contributed include Hahid Faras, Laughter of Allah, Hala Jahaj Eid Mosque Praying Ground for the Worship of Allha, our father, the beloved, Mosque of Allah, Gailouh Road, Hong Kong, Jalah, Lahjab Lahjab Lahjab, Tahjid! Wadihud Allah?, and for all I know some others that have been speedied. He also replaced the entire contents of an article with the word "ALLAH" (see this diff), made this strange addition, and this, and this. If he was an anon we'd probably have blocked him by now. • User created a few pages too, but those pages needed to be either 1) wikified, 2) checked for consistency, or 3) have warning put on it. Most of the attempts are bogus, though.

Clearly this IP address is shared by one good, hard-working (indian or sri lankan, by the looks of it) wikipedian and one (rather lackadaisical) vandal. If this pattern continues, there's no way that we're going to ban this address. -- John Fader (talk · contribs) 03:05, 5 Mar 2005 (UTC)

      • The IP 206.137.1.33 has repeatedly tried to replace the Spencer Gifts article with a copyvio from the "history" page on the company's official site. After I reverted the first attempt, he or she immediately reverted back to the copyvio, claiming the non-copyvio version was "irrelevant" and "inaccurate", as shown by the article's edit history. I reverted again, then the IP went back to the copyvio version, claiming that Spencer's "allowed" reproduction of its official history. After the third revert, User:WikiPic sent me an email where they claimed to work for Spencer's and said they authorized copies of historical and promotional materials. The email came from a Comcast (USA cable Internet) address, not a Spencer's address as you would expect an email from a Spencer's corporate employee to come from. The latest reverts from WikiPic and the IP once again claim the original, non-copyvio article is "inaccurate" and that "Wikipedia is welcome to Call Spencer Gifts Corporate". I seriously doubt the copy from the website is authorized, and if it is it's extremely POV and inappropriate for Wikipedia. /sɪzlæk˺/ 04:21, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)
