UFC 136: Edgar vs. Maynard III is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on October 8, 2011, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.[1] The event will also coincide with a two day UFC Fan Expo to be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center.[2][3]
Background
UFC 136 will feature two preliminary fights live on Spike TV.[4]
Josh Grispi was expected to face Matt Grice at the event[5], but Grispi was forced from the bout and replaced by Nam Phan.[6]
The UFC held a press conference on Aug. 16th at Toyota Center in Houston. Attendees included UFC President Dana White, Frankie Edgar, Gray Maynard, Jose Aldo and Kenny Florian.[7]
