The Ultimate Fighter: Heavy Hitters (also known as The Ultimate Fighter 28) is an installment of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)-produced reality television series The Ultimate Fighter.[2] The season tournament finale will take place on November 30, 2018 at Pearl Theatre at Palms Casino Resort on Fox Sports 1.[3]

Tryouts were announced on April 25, 2018. This season will feature women's featherweights and men’s heavyweights divisions,[4][5] would make the first appearance to be featured in The Ultimate Fighter show since its first launch in 2005.[6] The coaches for this season were announced on July 7, pitting The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes winner and current UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker against current former middleweight The Ultimate Fighter 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum.[7][8] A middleweight title fight will be scheduled between Whittaker and Gastelum after TUF 28.[9][10] The cast was announced on July 11, 2018.[11]

  • The fighters arrive in Las Vegas to begin the training and evaluations prior to the teams being picked.
  • Gastelum wins the coin toss and chooses to pick the first fight. That means Whittaker will have the first fighter pick and the fighters were picked in the following order:
