Visitors to Senegal require a visa unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries.[1] Visitors must hold passports that are valid for at least 3 months from the date of arrival.

Visa exemption

Citizens of the following 59 countries can visit Senegal without a visa for up to 90 days:[2]

1 - This does not apply any other passports or travel documents issued including Mainland Travel Permits by Hong Kong or Macao unless having any of mainland China or a British Nationals (overseas) passport.

Holders of passport for Public Affairs of China can visit Senegal without a visa for 30 days.
Holders of a Laissez-Passer issued by the United Nations traveling on duty and holders of a Laissez-Passer issued by the Economic Community of West African States do not require a visa.

Holders of diplomatic passports issued to nationals of Turkey and holders of diplomatic and official/service passports issued to nationals of Algeria, China, Gabon, Libya, Russia,[4][5] Tanzania and Uganda do not require a visa.

In October 2019 Senegalese Minister of the Interior announced that Senegal would reintroduce visa requirements for all visitors except ECOWAS citizens by the end of 2019.[6]

Visa on arrival

Citizens of all other countries except  Hong Kong, British Nationals (overseas),  Kosovo,  Macao and  Yemen may obtain a visa on arrival for a stay of up to a month. They must have a passport valid for a minimum of 6 months from the arrival date, and a return/onward ticket, and a proof of accommodation.[7]

Passengers except Hong Kong and Macao holding an official invitation letter issued by a Senegalese Authority to participants of international events or a proof of accommodation can obtain visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 30 days.
