Visitors to São Tomé and Príncipe must obtain a visa online or from one of the diplomatic missions of São Tomé and Príncipe in advance unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries.

Visa policy[edit]

Citizens of the following 61 countries can visit São Tomé and Príncipe without a visa:[1][2][3]

Holders of normal passports issued by  Taiwan can get a visa on arrival.

Holders of diplomatic or service passports issued to nationals of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, China, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and Taiwan do not require a visa for São Tomé and Príncipe. In addition holders of official or service passports issued to nationals of Cuba also do not require a visa for São Tomé and Príncipe.

Visa waiver agreement was signed with  Rwanda[4] and it is yet to come into force.

eVisa[edit]

Nationals of countries that require a visa may obtain it online through an eVisaST system.[5]

Substitute visa[edit]

Holders of a visa issued by the United States or a Schengen area member state do not require a visa for stays up to 15 days.
