Visa policy of Kyrgyzstan

The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic allows citizens of specific countries/territories to visit Kyrgyzstan for tourism or business purposes without having to obtain a visa.[1][2] Despite proposals to abolish the visa-free regime, the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan vowed to retain the current policy in December 2015.[3]

Holders of passports issued by the following 12 nations are not required to obtain a visa for Kyrgyzstan for an indefinite stay:[4]

1 – provided being permanent residents of country of nationality.

Holders of passports issued by the following 2 nations are not required to obtain a visa for Kyrgyzstan for a maximum stay of 90 days:[5]

Holders of passports issued by the following 45 nations are not required to obtain a visa for Kyrgyzstan for a maximum stay of 60 days:[6]

Holders of passports issued by the following 2 nations are not required to obtain a visa for Kyrgyzstan for a maximum stay of 30 days:[7]

Additionally only holders of diplomatic or official/service passports of China, India, Indonesia, Iran and Turkmenistan can visit Kyrgyzstan without a visa.

Visa on arrival

Holders of passports issued by the following nations are eligible to obtain a visa on arrival valid for a maximum stay of 30 days:[8]

Holders of passports issued by the following nations are eligible to obtain a visa on arrival valid for stays longer than 60 days:[9]

2 – except Cyprus, Bulgaria and Romania

Electronic visa

Kyrgyzstan will start issuing electronic visas in spring 2015. Electronic visas will be issued for stays up to 60 days with an option to extend the stay.[10]
