All visitors must have a passport valid for at least 6 months.
Visa exemption
With the exception of citizens and mentioned in the next chapter, all other citizens may enter Suriname without a visa for up to 90 days if travelling for tourism or family visits. However, an entry fee of USD 25 or 25 euros is required to be paid online prior to arrival (unless otherwise exempt). Exemption from entry fee applies to passport holders of CARICOM member states. In addition (Diplomatic, Official, Service & United Nations Passport Holders) and (residents of Suriname) are also exempt from entry fee.[1][2][3]
Visa required in advance
On 1 May 2023, Suriname unilaterally reimposed the visa requirement for citizens from 21 countries; this was said to have been due to the aforementioned citizens having abused visa-free travel to Suriname.[4]
Citizens of the following 21 countries must obtain an e-Visa:[5][3]
